About Dogs

People may wonder whether they can bring their dogs on CVC walks.
The answer is, "It depends upon where the walk takes place."

CVC itself has no restrictions on people bringing dogs on walks, as long as the dogs are well-behaved, under the control of their owners at all times, and do not cause issues for other walkers or other dogs. Dogs which are unfriendly to people they do not know, or to other dogs which might be present, should be left at home.
If the walk takes place on city streets or trails anywhere an individual with a dog can go, the dog can go on the walk (assuming the conditions in the previous paragraph are met). There are some walks which take place within locations which do place restrictions on dogs. For example, Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually Wildlife Refuge does not allow dogs anywhere within the refuge. The Scatter Creek Wildlife Area requires dogs to be on leash from April 1 thru July 31 and the area is used for dog training during certain times. Other locations may have other restrictions. Some colleges only allow dogs which are service animals on their campuses, for example.
If you are uncertain whether your dog would be welcome on any particular walk, please ask the point of contact for the walk, or if the walk is within a location such as a wildlife refuge, educational institution, or other similar facility, please check the facility's website or contact the facility directly.
