CVC Year Round Event - Olympia Capitol Downtown Walk
Event: Olympia Capitol Downtown Walk ESVA Challenges: Frontline Heroes, That's Entertainment, 39 Counties Second Edition (Thurston) AVA Special Programs: Town Halls/City Halls, Walking With America's Veterans, Walking the United States - Capitals AVA Sanction#/Distance/Rating: 125559 - 2024 / Y0653 - 10K with 6K option, both rated 2B Description: The Capitol Campus proudly sits atop a hill overlooking the historic downtown. Walk wanders through the old sections of downtown, the capitol campus and parts of the historic south Capitol Neighborhood, with great views of Puget Sound. Start/Finish Times: January 2 - December 31 - 8:00 AM to Dusk. Bayview Thriftway is closed on Christmas. Accessibility/Amenities: Medium difficulty for strollers, not possible for wheelchairs. Pets are allowed. Restrooms are at the start point and in various locations en route. Registration: This event has both an Online Start Box (OSB) and a Physical Start Box (PSB). You may register using either of these, but please complete the walk using the same method used to register to receive proper credit. To register using the OSB, go to AVA Login and follow the prompts. To register using the PSB, follow the directions below: Start/End Location: Bayview Thriftway Deli at 516 W 4th Ave., Olympia (lots of food choices, plus a local coffee bar) Driving Directions: From I-5, take Exit # 105B, Port of Olympia. Southbound merges onto Plum St. Northbound turns left onto Plum St. Continue several blocks on Plum St., then turn left onto State Street. Follow State St. to the waterfront, where it turns left; take the first right onto 4th Avenue. Bayview Thriftway is on the right, just before the Fourth Avenue Bridge.
